The idea behind my coffee sleeves

I'd love to hear any of your simple, yet life changing stories behind product ideas you've come up with. In the meantime, here's one I don't mind sharing with you all. This is how I came up with the coffe sleeves, and now I'm getting requests for water bottle sleeves and 1 liter Pepsi bottle sleeves. So, anyway, here's my story....

My darling husband and I were comming back from San Francisco after attending a Raiders football game in Oakland (BTW- Raiders got shut out by the Falcons). It was a little late, and we had a few hour drive, and I'm not the best company in a long car ride when I'm a bit sleepy.. So we get some coffee. We both get the same 24 oz  White Chocolate Caramel coffee ( yes, pure sugar, lots of calories, but YUMMY). My husband finishes his but I've still got a couple ounces in mine. What's the big deal your asking yourself.

Well, I've neglected to tell you so far that my hubby also is a Copenhagen / Skoal chewer. He couldn't find anything to spit in, and hence started using his empty coffee cup as his spitoon.

Long story short, I reach over to what I thought was MY coffee cup, which was cool at that point, and took a big, big, gulp. Unfortunatly, it was NOT my cup, and at 65-70 miles per hour on the freeway, there isn't really anywhere to spit out what was NOT coffee!  I turned to him and said in basic terms: We've been married for almost 7 years, and I am still drinking from the wrong cup. I'm going to do something about this somehow.

Now, I am VERY happy to report that since I made him a fabric RE-useable (Three Stooges) coffee sleeve, I have not mistaken his cup for mine!  We just keep them in the center console, and let the coffee houses know we have our own sleeves, we do not need their cardboard ones.

So, I figure if a simple thing like a coffee sleeve can make such a great improvement on my life, I'd love to share not just my fabric sleeves with you, but the story behind them as well...
